TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CARS

A. Rental requirement

Driver must be at least 21 years of age for groups A-B (19-20 years old may pay a fee for extra insurance), and at least 25 years of age for groups C-D-E. All driver’s licenses must be at least one year old from the date of issue. International Driver licenses have to be valid. Expired licenses will not be accepted. Failure to present your driver’s license on the initial day of pick up will lead to a non-refundable cancellation of the contract.

B. General Terms of Rental

The minimum rental charge is 1 day. All car prices include unlimited mileage with the exception of certain vehicles with a mileage restriction that is clearly agreed upon. Delivery and pick up from/to the airport and port is possible with an extra fee. VAT is included in the total amount. Petrol consumption is paid for by the customer, all vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel that they were received. All fines, Tickets and attached administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic Laws during the rental period are solely the customer’s responsibility. If the violation responsibilities are ignored, they will be dealt with at the European Union Court of Law. The vehicle may be used ONLY for legal purposes. The customer cannot travel outside the island of Kos. Extension of rental beyond the agreed upon dates cannot take place without the advanced written authorization of Trust Rentals, and the required advanced payment must be made in order for the insurance coverage to be extended. Failure to do so may cause violation of the law as the customer will be driving illegally and without insurance. Notification of cancellation must be made at least 5 days prior to delivery, otherwise there will be a cancellation fee.

C. Vehicle Use

Normal cars are not allowed on unpaved (non-asphalt) roads. If you take a normal car off-road you will be liable for the repair of any damage found on the undercarriage, wheels and tires of the vehicles, plus the replacement cost of cabin and air filters. Cleaning charges will also be applied. All vehicles returned with a very dirty interior a charge of €15 will be made for cleaning.

D. Insurance coverage

Customers are insured for public liability insurance, third party damage insurance A Collision Damage Waiver option is available for most vehicles (Relax Package) at a fee that is agreed upon when the contract is made. The insurance does not cover any damages that may occur when the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Damages are not covered when the car has been engaged in vehicle racing or any other illegal actions. Damages are not covered when the driver has been under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Due to insurance regulations the customers are required to secure baby and child seats by themselves. It is forbidden to take the cars on the ferryboat, the car insurance is only valid on Kos island.

D1. Collision Damage Waiver

In case the customer is responsible for the accident the highest possible amount that the customer has to pay is the excess fee, except when the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or the car has been engaged in vehicle racing or any other illegal actions. In this case the insurance is void, and they are fully responsible to pay all damages.

D2. Relax Package

This package covers: personal insurance, theft, flat or destroyed tires, damages when the car is parked, windows and mirrors, 0 excess.

E. Administration of accidents, mechanical damages, and lost keys

In case of an accident If an accident occurs the driver, if capable, must at first take care for his own safety and the safety of the passengers. It is obligatory that in any accident the driver must call the police for a written report to be filled out by the police officer including a breathalyzer test. Then he must inform Trust Rentals. Whether the driver is responsible or not for the accident is determined solely by the police report and not the driver. If the vehicle’s extended damage prolongs repairs for a long period, the insurance does not cover the missed rental days of the vehicle.

Mechanical Damages Our vehicles are delivered in excellent condition. In the event of a breakdown or any technical issue please call the office, and we will send an engineer to assess the problem as soon as possible. If they cannot repair it at that time, we will replace the car as soon as is practically possible. If we determine that the technical issue has resulted from misuse or failure to comply with the terms and conditions, we reserve the right to take back the vehicle without replacement and charge you for the amount of the damage.

Lost keys The keys of Trust Rentals’ vehicles are supplied with immobilizers. For each vehicle there is only one spare key. In case the customer loses his key, he must immediately notify Trust Rentals in order to receive the spare key, without trying in any other way to start the vehicle. The customer is charged with the cost of making a new key. Trust Rentals is obligated to deliver to the customer the relative receipt from the vehicle manufacturer’s agent.

Keys locked in the car Customers must notify Trust Rentals in order to either send a locksmith to open the vehicle, or send the spare key. The customer, in this case is charged with the cost for the visit of the locksmith or the dispatch of the spare key.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MOTOS, QUADS, BUGGIES

A. Rental requirement

Driver must be at least 18 years of age. European Union driver’s licenses must be at least one year old from date of issue. Driver licenses have to be valid. Expired driving licenses will not be accepted. Two-wheel motorbikes until 125cc require a driver’s license Class A1. Driving licenses class A for over 125cc motorbike. A vehicle driver’s license of Class AM is sufficient for all other motorbikes under 100cc. All Quads and Buggies require a Class B license. Failure to present your driver’s license on the initial day of pickup, will lead to a non-refundable cancellation of the contract. All motos require a deposit, the amount is determined by the size of the vehicle.

Only the person who signed the contract is entitled to drive the moto. The customer cannot travel outside the island of Kos. Extension of the rental requires the written authorization of Trust Rentals, a new contract must be made, and the required payment must be made in order for the insurance coverage to be extended. Failure to do so may cause violation of the law as the customer will be driving illegally and without insurance. Notification of cancellation must be made at least 5 days prior to the reservation delivery otherwise there will be a cancellation fee.

C. Insurance coverage

Customers are insured for public liability insurance, third party damage insurance You are insured if the accident is the fault of the third person, not if it is your own fault. The insurance does not cover any damages that may occur in case the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Damages are not covered if the motorbike has been engaged in vehicle racing or any illegal actions. Tires are not covered by the insurance. Customers are not allowed to drive the motorbikes on rocky areas and on the beach. Only the person who signed the contract is insured to drive the motorbike. In the case of theft of the motorbike the driver is responsible when he does not have the keys.

D. Insurance for motorbikes and quads

Extra Insurance may be purchased for Motorbikes, Quads and Buggies with a set fee that depends on the size and model of the vehicle, this insurance has an excess, the amount and the fee will be agreed upon by Trust Rentals and the customer. The excess is the amount that the customer will have to pay if he/she has an accident involving another vehicle and the police determine that the accident was the fault of the customer, if the other vehicle is at fault, then they must pay for damages. Please note that any damage that is caused by the customer by themselves and does not involve another vehicle is not covered by the excess so the customer is fully responsible for all the damage and must pay for this by themselves. If the extended damages prolong the repairs for a long period, the insurance does not cover the missed rental days of the motorbike, and the driver is responsible to pay for these days. It is the responsibility of the renter to check the condition of the vehicle and to ensure that any existing damage is recorded on the Rental Agreement when taking delivery of the vehicle. Any damages not recorded on the Rental Agreement and found when the vehicle is returned will become the responsibility of the renter.
